The Career Dilemma: How to find a career that’s right for you

Choosing a career is one of the most crucial decisions in life, yet it often arrives with uncertainty, questions, and a lack of clarity what I call the “Career Dilemma.” This book, “Career Dilemma: How to Find the Right Career for You,” is my attempt to provide guidance and perspective to students aged 15 to 25 and their parents as they face this significant life choice. Through this book, I aim to address the pain points, myths, and challenges surrounding career decisions in today’s fast-paced, ever-evolving world. Reflecting on my own journey from a chemical engineering student to a corporate leader, I understand how the landscape of work and careers has shifted across generations. The early revolutions of the Industrial Age set the industry norms against which I began my career. The leap from Industry 1.0 marked by mechanization and mass production to the current Industry 4.0 dominated by digital transformation, AI, and automation has revolutionized the way we approach careers. Today, we see entire industries redefined and new professions emerging, demanding adaptability, creativity, and a unique blend of skills. The career path, once linear and predictable, is now a dynamic journey full of options but also laden with uncertainties.
